Says who?
I've recently stopped catching a cab to work.
Instead I started using public transport - the bus!
I reckon it's the best form of public transport in Melbourne.
Mind you, the route from Toorak to the city is nicknamed "the brokers' bus".
Every morning, I sit comfortably among company executives and bankers in an air conditioned bus which takes the same route as my cab anyway - for $4!
I didn't realise how big the price difference is until i started doing the conversion:
1 cab ride = $25 = a lunch time manicure
2 cab rides = $50 = my professional wash and blow wave
5 cab rides = $100 = a nice meal plus a glass of champaign at The Italian
20cab rides (a month)= an Hermes scarf
2 months = a pair of Christian Loubotin pumps
12 months = $6000 = a Chanel bag + a pair of Loubotin shoes
I didn't even take road toll into account. Lol
You see, I do have concept of money. I just need to think in tangible terms!
Hi Adela!
ReplyDeleteI agree, the bus is so much better than the tram... and you always get a seat!
I used to take the bus from toorak to the city every morning, and I would always think to myself that it is under utilized cos theres always so many seats available.
By the way, do you mind me asking where do you cut your hair in Melbourne? I went to Sui last time and they kind of messed it up so was wondering if you know any place else that is good? :)
Much appreciated
I actually go to Sui! Ask for andy!
