Bluechip Investments...

I'm still trying to find a tripod so I can photograph my "outfit du jour"... and I still haven't got time to fix the layout and design of this blog. So please bear with this amateur layout during this transition period.

In my line of work, we deal with moneyed clients (taste optional). And even if you're not making millions as a new comer, there is pressure to look the part. After all, you are not really inspiring confidence when you rock up to a client meeting in scruffy shoes and a cheap suit. When you deal with private clients, there are certain expectations of you. Obviously it's what's inside your head that is more important at the end of the day, but intelligence is already a given. You wouldn't be working here if you weren't half intelligent or qualified by ASIC standards. If you don't make an impression during the 20 minutes out of their busy schedules, you don't get the chance to demonstrate your intelligence. On the other hand, if you managed to capture their attention, you might have just found your way into their deep and well-lined pockets.

Networking is a big part of the business. You need to be ready to pull extra hours to socialize with fund managers or private clients. They aren't always interesting but hey, you want their money, so please look interested and look the part. I always make an effort when I get dressed for work and I always assume I'd be catching up with a client for a drink after work. So I do pick outfits that can take me from day to night. A little jazzy but still understated enough for office hours.

Just like an investment portfolio, every corporate wardrobe starts with a few "bluechip investments". They have high initial outlays (expensive to buy); they are not seasonal or cyclical (timeless designs); they yield good returns (you can re-wear them over and over again). They are not the most exciting investments but you know you can always count on them to add a magic touch to an otherwise boring outfit.

The 12mm heels with 20mm hidden platform
elongate your legs without breaking your feet

Chanel Embossed Patent Leather bag

Every girl needs a little sparkles on her face. Enough said.

And of course, a swiss watch.
No one is watching the time but everyone is looking at your watch.
Yes, people are THIS superficial.
